Polka Dots vs Stripes is a group exhibition featuring the work of Austin-based visual artists, fashion designers, and performers. Co-curated by Nicole Josephine Kline and Jewlian Rucheal Emerson, the exhibit explores pattern as a language of identity, contrast, and visual rhythm.
Through fashion design, contemporary sculpture, and multimedia installation, the artists investigate how repetition, form, and surface can shape meaning and influence how we experience space. By placing wearable design alongside sculptural and multimedia works, the exhibition considers how pattern functions not only as decoration but as structure, movement, and expression.
Visitors will encounter an immersive gallery environment where garments, objects, and installations occupy shared space, inviting audiences to move through the exhibition and experience the work from multiple perspectives.
A public ticketed Jewls & Gems networking mixer featuring photographers, designers, and models activating the gallery will take place on opening night, Wednesday, March 18 from 7pm-10pm.
The gallery will be view from March 18 to April 4.
