INSIDE is a multimedia installation that includes painted works, hand-dyed textiles, video, and sound. Both artists are extending their exploration of non-traditional display in service of further engaging the space and viewer.

With INSIDE the duo explore the relatability of experiencing the world through a physical body, the alienation of contemporary medical experiences, and the mind/body connection. In his own studio practice Aderholt investigates how formative moments become encoded in personal memory. His paintings, textile works, and videos interrogate how seemingly mundane moments indoctrinate us into violent systems that disregard the sanctity of life. Baker’s works enact a push and pull of seduction and repulsion that draws the viewer’s awareness to their physical body in space. Through collages of video, painting, and installation, she gives visible exterior form to ephemeral internal experiences.

These artists closely collaborated through every step of the creation process to produce a fresh body of work to be displayed in Bolm Arts gallery.

In this solo exhibition, “Slow Fade, ” Xander Rudd explores the essence of "fade" in his new mixed media paintings and the multi-dimensionality thatlies within them. The paintings oscillate between abstraction and representation, blending organic forms with fabricated constructs. Within each piece, there exists a delicate interplay between painterly expression and graphic precision, inviting viewersto navigate the threshold between order and chaos. Gradients of color are central to the collection, dancing across the surface and serving as a conduitfor transitioning between moments, realities, and states of mind.

A notable aspect of Rudd's work lies in the interconnectedness of each piece. They inform, yet also echo one another, creating a visual dialogue that resonates throughout the exhibition. Througha harmonious blend of form and color, viewers are encouraged to immerse themselves in the intricacies of texture and pattern, while also embracing the tranquil expanses of atmospheric fades. In essence, this exhibition offers a contemplative experience, inviting audiences to tune into the nuances of perception and to explore the subtle beauty found within the journey of transformation.

Xander Rudd is a visual Artist from Tennessee currently working out of his studio in Austin, Tx.He graduated from University of Tennessee witha Bachelors in Two-Dimensional Arts and a concentration in Painting in 2016. In this solo exhibition by Toni Ardizzone, tactile paintings and assemblages link the terrestrial world with the artist’s personal experiences of facing mortality and living with a chronic illness. Through uninhibited construction, layers of scavenged materials create unrefined surfaces for drawing, painting, and collage. Mirrors, cardboard, bones, flash cards, and antique textiles channel nostalgia and memory, while vigorous marks and loose paint handling reflect on the human body’s fragility and resilience. Within Reason probes the marvels of nature while teasing a phrase that is meant to set boundaries. Apprehending the discoveries of science and medicine while rejecting divine belief, these works navigate self-subscribed mysteries and miracles through a humanist lens.

Toni Ardizzone has presented solo exhibitions nationally and her murals exist across the globe. In 2019, Ms. Ardizzone was selectedfor two artist residencies including Ayatana’s “Mortem” in Quebec, Canada and the Palimpsest Mural Project in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Her murals have been commissioned by Facebook, SXSW, Austin City Limits Festival, HOPE Campaign and the Art Councils of Thomasville, Georgia, Havana, Florida, Adams County, Colorado and Glens Falls, New York. Whether created in the studio or on a public wall, her paintings share a distinct voice thatis both inviting and vivaciously punk, filled with confrontational imagery, wild patterns, and unexpected color palettes. Ardizzone received her BFA from Indiana University in 2006 and MFA from Florida State University in 2020.She currently resides in Austin, Texas.
