Touch Grass closing reception

Touch Grass is a multimedia group exhibition exploring the impact of environmental defunding and the loss of land protections for national parks and green spaces. Artists Marsha Riti, Andew Sak, Amanda Fay, Isaiah Castillo, Thomas Cook, Stephanie Mervine, Tara Baker, Amber Buck, Elyse Gomez, and Ash Oreline use this platform to explore the human relationship with nature within the context of the current social and political climate.

These featured artists were invited to answer one or more of the three following questions:

1. What does the future look like if current policies continue?

2. What will we miss, or lose, if these protections continue to erode?

3. What future do we hope for instead?

Addressing these questions delves into the ramifications of limiting environmental protections and asks the viewer if that is a future they want, or are there intrinsic moments, experiences, and memories involved with the natural world that are too imperative…
