TIME - A Negative Space Group Show
Curated By:
The Negative Space Photography Collective

The Negative Space Photography Collective has curated a show based on the only unifying element of all lens-based media - time. With each artist drawing upon their own methodologies and processes. From digital to film to alternative process; this show explores this concept both literally and figuratively, allowing the viewer to participate with their own experiences. With representational and abstract forms, this show explores themes of aging, abandonment, physical change, and ecological anxiety. To examine time is to examine the past, present and future. Time is both physical and emotional. Visitors are invited to approach this show with their own concept of time and be challenged by alternative viewpoints. This show is excited to present Keep Looking Publishing as featured artists. Keep Looking Publishing is the Austin-based imprint of Angela Mathews and Chris Barias, operating at the intersection of photography, fashion, and publishing. Together, they channel more than 35-years of experience as artists into a platform that treats art, design, and documentation as living social forms.
Negative Space is a photography collective based at Bolm Studios in Austin, Texas. The members are Derrick Wansom, Robin John Winter, Karen Stone, Angel De Jesus Huerta, and Marie Ketring. This collective works to support and help each other grow in their own artistic practice, as well as to share talents and photographic materials. The goal of this group is to build community, expand the artistic representation of photographers in Central Texas, and raise awareness and understanding of analog, alternative, and digital photographic processes. They are interested in collaborating with other Texas artists to create shows and combine talents to improve artistic expression within and outside the collective.
