ANAMNESIS is an immersive gallery experience exploring photographic archives, sensory-rich film, and handmade garments by local independent designers. The exhibition guides viewers through three years of Bloodbath Studio fashion and film productions, debuting on December 5, 2025, in Austin, Texas at Bolm Arts Gallery.

Anamnesis—meaning the act of remembering —invites audiences into the subconscious pulse of ritual, memory, and identity. The gallery is the studio’s most ambitious environment yet, merging interactive media, projection-scapes, tactile couture displays, and story-driven installation design to embody some core tenants of the studio: visibility is sacred, memory is a portal, and creation is a ritual.

The exhibition is a co-authored environment: spearheaded by visual artist Maia Vollbrecht leading the visual art curation and Bloodbath founder and filmmaker Hannah Varnell guiding the opening experience and cinematic narrative of the gallery. Navarr Gonzales aka FLAMER supports the fashion dimension, producer Alexandra Sleeping employs local resource stewardship, and Bolm Arts Collective provides essential production support.

The gallery features original film work by Varnell alongside garments produced by Bloodbath co-creators and independent couture designers FLAMER, Benjamin Medina, and DASHE. Media artists represented include cinematographers Angela Herr, Joey Hunt, and Andrew Barrera, producer/cinematographer Ivy Wei Chiu, founder of filmmaking collective 24 Cobras, indie-pioneer and photographer Ima Leupp, and documentary photographers Arthur Moss and Brittany NO FOMO - to name a few.

Live cinematography documenting designer creations provided by MJ Johnson of Salt Productions, director and indie-film luminary Michael Zumaya, and steadicam artist Matthew McCloskey. Space curator Marta Elena Cortez-Neavel of Futurkind studio provides curated spaces for connection.

The gallery is supported by fiscal sponsor, Future Front Texas with libations provided by Grav, Goodnight Loving Vodka, Bubblr, Bloom Pop and Best Day Brewing

The exhibition represents the studio’s broader mission to amplify independent artists through cinematic language and communal platforms. Past showcases include over 500 artist collaborations, and nearly 1000 guests have gathered at the studio’s flagship productions since 2022, each asserting a growing and lasting cultural impact within film, fashion, and performance spaces.

“This gallery is a culmination of everything the studio has built over the past four years,” says Hannah Varnell. “A way to honor the heart and soul of the independent artists and creators from Central Texas in fashion, film, and performance art.”
